Spermatorrhoea
:
Spermatorrhoea means involuntary discharge of semen with more or less orgasm. It generally occurs at night and very rarely during the day. Nocturnal pollutions generally take place between the years of 16 and 25 and are not generally harmful when they do not occur more than say once a week. When they do not occur frequently but cause great debility, impair activity and depress the mind, they are abnormal. It consists of an involuntary discharge of seminal fluid without orgasm occurring either at stool, on emission of urine, on movements, on the least excitement, after the most trivial erection or even without any cause. Self-abuse frequently results in spermatorrhoea and nocturnal pollutions and this affection in their turn bring on impotence. A person suffering from these disorders should not indulge in rich and stimulating diet, should avoid drinking tea, coffee and any alcoholic liquor. Mind should not be allowed to dwell upon any erotic and lascivious subjects and reading novels should be interdicted. Reading of any religious or philosophical book before retiring to bed has saluotly effect. Exercise in open air and cold bathing are the two great aids to the treatment of these affections. |
