Tinctures (Q)::  

  • These are in liquid form and are generally alcoholic preparations of medicines. These are supposed to be quicker and most decided in their action, in acute diseases, than either pilules or globules.

Pellets :  

  • Pellets made of pure cane-sugar and of various sizes are medicated buy saturation with any drug desired. Those of the size of poppy-seeds are called globules and those which are a little larger are called pilules. These are generally used for the administration of high potencies.

Triturations : 

  • These are in the form of powder, the vehicles of the drugs being sugar of milk. Triturations are generally the lower attenuation of insoluble medicines.

The selection of medicine should be based strictly on the basis of symptoms.

Adult: 

  • One drop of tincture with two spoonfuls of water being one dose.

  •  Four globules or two pilules being one dose.

  •  One grain of trituration, being one dose.

Child: 

  • One drop of tincture with two spoonfuls of water, one spoonful being one dose.

  •  Two globules or one pilule being one dose.

  •  Half-a-grain of trituration, being one dose.

Infant: 

  • One drop to tincture with two spoonfuls of water, half spoonful being one dose. 

  • One globule or a half pilule being one dose 

  • One-third or one-fourth of a grain of trituration, being one dose.

 

Natural Medicine

There are no cut-and -dried rules for determining correct potency required in a particular case. Several summers' experience alone is the best teacher.

 In acute diseases, potencies, namely, 3x, 6 and 30 are generally most satisfactory in their results.

 In chronic diseases, where deep acting medicines are selected, they are generally given in higher and highest potencies like 200, 1000(1M), 10,000(10M), 100,000(CM). A general rule is that higher and highest potencies of a remedy act best, when it is sharply indicated by the symptoms. 

 

IMPORTANT: The above is a general prescription but the patients must consult their physician before taking any medicine for correct diagnosis and better results.
